Behind the Transportation Numbers: What to know about the vehicle economics and usage patterns driving transportation electrification and load planning

EVs are being adopted at different rates depending on the vehicle segment and use-case, so despite some flagging policy support the economics will continue to drive electrification.  This half-day transportation electrification workshop will feature real life data that are shaping consumer and fleet adoption and the behaviors and trends behind charging.  Critical utility planning topics will cover EPRI’s library of TCO by vehicle segment, EPRI’s library of load shapes by vehicle segment, nameplate vs. diversity factors in grid planning, and power‑level trends.

Promoting electrification and affordability for all income levels requires specialized approaches. This dynamic workshop will dive into program maturity and leading practices, enabling participants to self-assess and develop plans and strategies for program design, outreach, and implementation. Community Data Partners will join EPRI researchers in presenting a maturity model and sharing lessons learned from pilots and case studies as well as successful programs.

Planning for Transportation Electrification: How leading fleets, charging providers, and utilities are making the most of the next few years to plan for this inevitable load
EVs are expected to be a bigger driver of load growth in the long run than data centers, so understanding this load and making the most use of the next few years to plan for this large-scale load matters.  This half-day transportation electrification workshop will feature real life experiences that are shaping the most critical fleet operator, charging developer, and utility planning topics including flexible interconnection approaches, managed charging, and utility hosting capacity sharing options. This session will also highlight some of the most common charging provider site designs and charging implementation approaches in use today.

Field Agriculture and Landscaping
Session will focus on how electric and hybrid technologies may potentially revolutionize outdoor agriculture. The session will emphasize the roles of utilities, equipment providers, and communities in the future of agriculture, including highlighting needs like grid modernization, load management, improved crop and energy efficiency, and lowered emissions. Planned topics include proactive planning, infrastructure upgrades, and stakeholder partnerships.
